5 stars across the board for Matt and his boutique style practice at Tropic Athlete. I have been dealing with debilitating migraines for most of my life and I am happy to say I am now feeling close to symptom free after working with him. He also significantly changed my approach to an old meniscus tear and how I train lower body. If you are looking for a hands on , one on one approach with a waterfront view, he's your guy!

Highly recommend. Not your average PT session. It was cupping, needling, massage, and an elaborate strengthening system that went above and beyond! If you’re looking for an all in one physical therapist… Matt is your guy!

I had an amazing experience at Tropic Athlete! I came in with a meniscus tear hoping to avoid surgery, and Matt created a personalized plan that focused on rebuilding my strength and fixing my mechanics the right way. Within a month, I noticed a huge improvement including less pain, better awareness, and more confidence using my knee. Matt is very professional, positive, and truly cares about your progress. Thanks to Matt, I’ve been able to recover while avoiding surgery. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a non-surgical approach to healing!

Dr. Matt is a true lifesaver! I came to him struggling with hip pain that made it impossible to work out, golf, or play pickleball. As someone who drives a lot for work, I found it excruciating to get out of the car due to the pain. In just two months under Dr. Matt’s care, I’m back to enjoying all three activities pain-free. I’m incredibly grateful for his expertise and highly recommend him to anyone seeking exceptional physical therapy. Thank you, Dr. Matt!

FAQs

Common questions about physical therapy at Tropic Athlete.

Do you work with runners of all levels?

Sessions are $150-$175 each. We don't bill insurance, which means more time with you and less paperwork. Most clients see results in 6-8 visits, and we'll give you an honest timeline at your first evaluation.

Will I have to stop running during treatment?

We're cash-based and don't bill insurance directly. However, many clients use HSA/FSA cards or submit superbills to their insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. We can provide the documentation you need.

Can you help me get faster?

Each session is 45-60 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist. No assistants, no double-booking—just focused care designed around your goals.

How do you analyze my running form?

We'll spend time understanding your injury, goals, and training routine. Then we'll do a thorough movement assessment, start hands-on treatment, and give you a clear plan for recovery. You'll leave with exercises and next steps.
