FAQs

Common questions about working with Tropic Athlete and what to expect from cash-based physical therapy.

Do you accept insurance?

We’re an out-of-network provider, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. We accept payment directly for the majority of our programs and we can give you a superbill to submit for potential reimbursement. Many clients get a portion reimbursed depending on their plan.

HSA/FSA funds? YES! Most of our clients use HSA/FSA cards with no issue. We can provide the documentation you need to make that simple.

How long are appointments?

Initial evaluations are 80 minutes, and follow-up sessions are typically 60 minutes. We keep our schedule flexible so we can give you the attention and time your recovery needs without rushing through cookie-cutter protocols.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your injury, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. Most patients see significant progress within 4-8 visits, but we'll give you a clearer timeline after your evaluation and adjust the plan as you improve.

Can you help me get back to running, lifting, or my sport?

Absolutely. We work with active adults and athletes who want to return to training at full capacity. We'll build a plan that addresses your injury, strengthens weak areas, and prepares you to handle the demands of your sport or activity.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing you can move in. Bring any relevant imaging results or reports if you have them, but they're not required. We'll take a detailed history and do a thorough movement assessment during your evaluation.
